I'll join you. Our guys have taken them on backpack trips. They're way overpackaged, bulky, expensive, and very likely "expired". They make a lot of trash to pack out. I think the guys like the idea of "playing army".

You should not be burning plastic. For 1 is is not good for your health and 2 is it not good for the environment.
