Eagle Projects

Postby Wapiti » Sat Jan 27, 2007 6:13 pm

My son made Life in October, and is anxious to get started on his project. He has a pretty good idea of what he wants to do.

He has earned 31 MB, including all the Eagle required MB; and will have 6 months served in Leadership in April.

Question is: Can the project be planned and completed before his 6 months as Life Scout?

Can he present his plan now to his SM, Troop, Committee, & Council now, or does he have to wait until his 6 months as Life are up?

The planning for the Eagle project can begin as soon as the Life board of review is completed. So yes, he can get it started.

Just use the Eagle Project Book he should have by now. If he does not ask the SM or go to your council service center and get one.

initial planning of an Eagle Project can begin immediately after he has earned Life. Work on the project can not begin until approval of the project. This approval may also be obtained right after a scout has earned life.
If it is not written down then it is not an official rule

Yes, work on the project can begin as soon as Life is earned. As has been previously stated, make sure the eagle project book is followed, and that the project is properly approved before working on it.
