I was getting all excited about driving and forgetting about my duty to finish Eagle......until I got my insurance quote  so it looks like I'll be sticking to parking lots for another 2.5 years and will get my Eagle even sooner!

Sorry on one hand and congrats on the other.

I have seen many kids that get a real eye opening when it comes to getting insurance to drive when they are 16.

Wise choice. Obviously a decision of Eagle quality. Unless one has a family hardship and must drive/work, driving at young ages is fraught with problems today. Having the Eagle background will be an effective door opener when you drive to the interviews someday.

Having lived with teen drivers, I am going to suggest that even if you put off getting your driver's lisence for a while, you continue to get as much practice on the roads with you temps as possible.

I am not sure the 50 hours the state requires is really enough to be competent in a scary situation.

Also, depending on which insurance company you are with, you may get a discount for good grades or a defense driving course. Mid Ohio raceway has a very good car control clinic that teaches emergeny manuvers and skid control.
