Are You A Flap Wearer?

I feel that is is important to try to live up to the ideals of the Order in your scouting activities and everyday life. "Wear the patch internally" I like to say. I attempt to do this, since I've been active in other aspects of scouting, I"ve never gotten very involved in OA activities. I still proudly pay my dues.

Can't disagree with the idea of "wearing the patch internally" ... but it's also important to get records and dues correctly reflected. One of the hardest times I get is from a dad of a new Tiger cub, who was a scout once upon a time ... when I ask him to register with the OA lodge -- especially if our lodge isn't the one he was a member of back "in the dim ages."

THe lodge form just doesn't capture the imagination, and I end up having to really chase these folks for several months, usually. If I had a flyer from national to give in this situation, it would be very useful!

Sippo-O $10 a year...........it's really not that much, again I say, why can't a scout come up with a little cash every once and a while? Congrats on getting Vigil, I'm doing my Brotherhood at summer camp.





P.S. Is there anyone out there who doesn't wear their flaps but just the universal OA thingee (lack of a better word)?
