I'm seriously thinking of going back to Philmont via the OA Trail Crew....it says on the OA site that you must send $50 (non-refundable) of the $150 with your application.....what if your application gets denied? Also, if I went the Northern Tier route it says you can get there via Greyhound bus............I live in Ohio, how would I go about this? I am so confused :?

I would assume that if your application is denied, your deposit would be refunded to you.
Check out the Greyhound website on the internet for bus terminals and schedules, etc..

I concur, if they deny your application, your money would be refunded. The nonrefundable is if you accept the position, later backout and desire a refund, they will not refund your initial $50.00.

Best of Luck,

As obvious as this seems, it comes up frequently enough that I believe it should be spelled out. I don't know how many times in the last 3 years I have heard - " I'm not signing xxxx up for NYLT because they may not have enough Scouts and cancel the course and I won't get my deposit back "

May seem like a silly statement, but based on the number of times it comes up, maybe we are the silly ones. I'm working with people to make it clearer.
