Why would a Adult Scouter want to only be involved with the OA. To me this would be against the principals the the OA was founded on.
One of the requirements to be a registered member of the local OA lodge is to be a registered scout (Adult or Youth) on their local level. They have to first be registered on the Unit, District, or Council level.
I ran into this problem 20 plus years ago when I was Lodge Chief and going to College 100 plus miles from local troop. Troop got new SM that didnot want to keep me on with unit since I couldnot be active with local unit as he would like for me to have been. To remain as Lodge Chief I had to be registered on local level. New SM had no involvment with OA. Therefore I talked to another unit on the local level that I tranfered my membership to.
