I sent in my application today. Given the lateness of my request, there is no need for disappointment if it's denied, just elation if it's accepted :D

Speaking of the Jambo, the September newsletter is now available:

I basically went down the media list: Webmaster, Internal Communications, Jamboree Radio (hope that's broadcast, not ham), Jamboree Today, and Leader's Journal.

You know if I was in the NE region, I'd be there!

We'll see what happens and where/if I end up.

2005 will be my 3rd staffing. I have great friends from those other two Jamborees. We all stay in touch also most are returning to do it all over next summer. Quite honestly the day we get home next August we will start planning all over again for 2010

You still got people needed for the rappelling part?

You think that National or council (whatever) would send my application to you even though i didnt specify to do so if you are in need of rappelling people because that was my number 1 choice?

Have your council contact central region and get them to forward it to Northeast when they get it. It may work

I stopped by the Service Center on Monday and was told by the guy who processes the applications that he remembered mine being approved and sent on weeks ago. We know each other pretty well so I know he wasn't just dodging the issue. He said when he submitted his own he didn't hear from the region for three months! Since he's the Subcamp 19 Duty Officer, he was approved PRIOR to submittal

Anyway, I hope to hear more soon.
