stuff to do in ohiopyle

i know i had the other thread going, but i figured if i added to it, it would probably get over looked. so here goes the new one. we need/want something to do while we are down there on saturday (we're not rafting till sunday). one of our leaders wanted to go to pittsburg to go to muesuems (sp?). but the other scouts will ahve just gotten back from D.C., and im sure they will be meusemd out. so, i want to try to find something closer, and thats not a meuseum. i found laurel caverns, and i see that they have a scout program (any comments on that?). any ideas would be apreciated.

OK Here is what is around
the Yough River Bike Trail Bring Bikes or rest at WV the trail actually goes between DC and the Burgh
Two Frank Lloyd Wright Homes, Falling Waters and Kentuck Knob both require reservations
Laurel Caverns Offers caving for Scouts over 12 years of age with a parent signed waiver and reservations takes around 3 hours and you will get dirty and wet so clean clothes to change into are a must as are good shoes and at least three forms of light
I operate the Climbing Program there. as with the Caving it requires reservations and waivers and scouts must be 12 or over.

thanks wagion. is the caving part all that exciting? or would it be better to just shoot for one of their MB's?

We have taken our Troop to Laurel Caverns for several years. The caving is still a favorite and a repeat attraction to my Scouts.

We usually combine caving (in the afternoon) with either Forestry or Geology Merit Badge in the morning.

The climbing program is also a big hit with my Scouts.
