I don't know which forum to post this is in, so will post in both the Rank and reqiuired Merit Badge Forums. Some of the requirements for the Camping Merit Badge and Second and First Class badges, specifically the number of nights camping out and the hikes are similar. Can the same event (like a Troop backpacking trip) be used to satisfy both requirements?

Yes, the camping trips used for Second Class and First Class rank advancements can also be counted toward the Camping MB requirement.
