I am looking forward to 2010 and I know some of my fellow scouts from my 2005 Jambo Troop are looking forward to it too.

Jamboree was awesome. There were acouple of very difficult days but the spirit and durability of the scouts brought the mood of the adults back in line very quickly.

yes there were some problems but there were also some lessons that were learned very quickly, and by the end of the week many adjustments were already being made by the management of the event to avoid any repeats of the previous mistakes.

Many people probably were unaware that a planning and evaluation team for the 2010 Jamboree was present at this one. Y can be sure that , just as previous problems were dealt with prior to this jamboree, that problems of is years are already be reviewed and addressed for 2010.

I hope everyone who attended this year had an opportunity to see the great entertainment offered "upclose and personal" at the Daily Stage Shows across the street from Brown Sea Island. (wagion I managed to lose 8 lbs. )

My son was too young for this year's Nat'l Jamboree and will miss the age minimum for the 2007 World Jamboree by 4 months.

I guess that gives me time to complete Woodbadge and attend the Philmont Nat'l Training Center (before 2010 Nat'l and 2011 World).

The tour was nothing short of awesome for my son. He was on the jumbotron at the Yankee game Monday night and the entire contingent was on CBS Early Show this morning. They visit the USS Constitution and Fenway Park then have a Clam Chowder lunch before heading for home.

He's planning on wearing his one set of civies he took underneath his uniform so he can wear them on the car ride home from the airport. He has no intention on wearing a scout uniform for a couple of weeks.

Can you believe it's been two years since we as a staff said our good-byes and headed home? I know for me that was hard because I loved the group I got to work with on Rappel Tower D!, and there are several of those people that I'll probably never see again.

I hope to be back in 2010! Just thought I'd make note of the fact that it was this day two years ago we departed Jambo 2005.

Hot is right. We're under Heat Advisory for the first time that I can remember this summer and we're under it thru Tuesday.
