The Venturing uniform-improving on imperfection!

Postby LSR » Sat Sep 22, 2007 7:53 pm

Excuse me for a minute...aaarrrgghh.....! Ok, I feel better now. Having suffered blisters on several occasions from the wet at a glance, 100% cotton, most useless sock ever concieved, otherwise known as the Boy Scout sock as well as wondering what the !@##!! those small pockets on the front of the Scout pants are good for, I think "surely the Venturing uniform will be an improvement!" So much for foolish optimism...... (Note to youngsters-do not write a run on sentence like that at school.)

At least it was $37.00 vs. $67.00. 100% cotton (That made falling in the creek an afternoon long fun experience. The extra weight will build up my muscles. At least LA is warm this time of year.) The side pockets are in line with my knee vs my upper thigh as my old BDU's were. Anything bigger than a candy bar will assert itself with every step.

Pockets

Hmmm, I think the small front pockets are about right for all the certification cards you must have now, haha. Sorry, just adding to your venting. I wore them today again, and that's what I was using them for, little cards.

Why would you be wearing a uniform in a place where you might fall into a creek? Anybody that hikes with cotton sock deserves blisters. If you must hike wearing Boy Scout socks, wear the wool ones.
