Quality Unit award

Postby 616kayak » Sun Mar 12, 2006 7:44 pm

I have heard of different places to wear it and i am not shure where the correct place is. I have heard directly under the patrol badge, and i have also heard on the bottom of the sleve with the patrol badge. Can any one find an offical BSA publication that says where it goes?

The Quality Unit patch goes on the right sleeve, with the top of the patch 4" down from the shoulder seam.

I have been told by people who should know; it should be touching the next highest bagde. 8) Here is a link to the official inspection sheet off the BSA site. http://www.scouting.org/forms/34283.pdf The inspection sheet does not really say, but read what it says about the left sleeve & look how it is placed on the right sleeve.

I think it is more important to be a member of a quality unit than the exact placement of the badge. If your troop is consistant in one placement, I would do that.

Now that i look at the 4 inches that would be touching the honor patrol award. if you dont have it im guessing you would leave space for it?

4" down from the shoulder seam on the right shoulder is correct.

The 4" inch rule is listed in the insignia guide
