Any Suggestions for Other Training to Conduct

Postby mt_goodrich » Sat Nov 03, 2007 11:11 am

I am now part of the district training staff and one question posed to us is "What other training, besides Leader Specific, NLE, BALOO, OLS, etc. should we present."

Anyone have any suggestions?

I had thought about first aid and Disability Awareness.

NLE = New Leader Essentials

BALOO = Basic Adult Leaders Outdoor Orientation

OLS = Outdoor Leader Specific

OWLS = Outdoor Webelos Leader Specific

Those are some :)

I like the idea of official, certified First Aid/CPR training for a reasonable cost.

BOR

COR

Both have an online syllabus and should be put on by councils at least once a year.

Eagle Projects & Eagle BORs sponsored by the Advancement Committee. It should lead to some interesting discussion.

We actually had this presentation last week during RT and talk about interesting discussions. Also, a lot of misconceptions, etc. about what an Eagle Project should entail.
