Another Reason to Visit the Laurel Highlands

Well not they we have enough great High Adventure activities in the Laurel Highlands WISP Resort in McHenry Maryland have put a new twist on High Adventure.

Am I missing something here? When I open the link, I see nothing that says "Scouts, come on down."

Are they having some big event that Scouts should consider attending or is this just some new "place to go?"

Spent Saturday afternoon at ASCI for the USA Freestyle Kayaking Competition. It is really a neat place. The CLimbing Area is well marked and Bolted for Top Roping and many sport climbs. The Kayaking/rafting area is great and would be a great place to experience rafting whitewater without some of the major dangers. Don't get me wrong it is still dangerous but less so in my opinion.This is a Non Profit with the state of Maryland. Looking at one of the Construction information SIgns it was built with alot of Public Money from the Maryland DCNR and the State in General. Allegheny Power apparantly has made a large contribution to the project also. There next phase will be a High and Low ropes course plus an Orienteering area.

Troop went in 2003 and 2004, too young in '03, but went in '04.....great place....the natural waterslide's the best .......whitewater's pretty good.........also earned Forestry mb .
