Earning Wood Badge Beads in Less Than a Month

Postby mt_goodrich » Mon Dec 03, 2007 5:05 pm

Got an email from our Scoutmaster from Wood Badge annoucing the first person from our course has earned his beads.

The course ended on October 28th and someone will be awarded his beads next week.

My reaction is "WOW".

Is that a record?

I can theoretically complete my ticket items by the end of February or March 2008, but one items might keep me from earning until August of 2008.

I don't know of any rule that would make it impossible to do your tickets that fast.
We joked in my patrol about calling the TG from my cell phone on the way home, and scheduling the bead ceremony.

The suggested time from my course was that it should take 6-18 months to complete the tickets, and tickets should be planned accordingly.

There was one in my patrol who finished in less than 6 months. I took just over a year. There was one who still hasn't finished in 26 months.

I would be curious to know what were his tickets if he can finish them so soon.

I took about 11 months to complete my ticket. My patrol leader finished his about 2 months ahead of me.
