The Scout provides the leadership. Others, adults (including parents), and youth, provide the manpower.

If you put together the plan, get materials, donations, etc. and schedule the labor, you will have done most of the work. If you exercise excellent planning and leadership skills, the physical labor should theoretically be able to get done without you even being there.

you schouldn't be standing around. if the project is say plant flowers (lol) you shouldn't just stand aroudn ordering people, you should say what needs to be done and then work with them and if they have questions they can ask you.

I agree with you Scouter01, help, but still I would feel like I would need to be the one O.K. lets plant flowers and I do the work and have people asst me.

Ok, planning the project is a lot of work. You are going to be surprised on how much work it really is. It is actually more work to plan it than to actually work on the project. When planning, you need to hanve things down, not perect, but pretty close. When the project is going on, be an active leader. (I am saying this due to a youth in my troop who ordered people around and then sat down and listened to mucis the rest of the time) This really annoys others. You can tell people what needs to be done, and you can assist. You do not have to watch it all unfold, you planned it, but you also have to lead it.

When I did my project, I did a ton of planning, but I was also there handing out the smoke detectors to the students. It was a close thing to me, because of the reason behind it, but I think I have that posted in another post. I had a hard time just "letting go" and not helping. I am an active person, I need to help. So I just told others what needed to be done, and they did it. I also was able to get in there and help so I didnt feel left out.

That's the point. You must lead others in this project. However, you lead by example.


P.S. Check the NESA website for the wb, I like the original though, more professional.

I will keep that in mind when I start planning my project, I hope to start next week.
