BSA Switchback Pants: Buy One Get One Free

Postby Billiken » Thu Apr 24, 2008 7:16 pm

Our local scout shop is running a BOGO on BSA Switchback pants.
(The two pair do not have to be the same size.)

Have switchbacks failed?
Perhaps too expensive?

Anyone else seeing this?

Thanks

I served this past weekend on an IOLS course with a young man who is also an employee of one of the local Scout Shop. He said they are trying to clear inventory because a newer design is coming out.

He said the newer design of the switchbacks will have larger cargo pockets on the side and the zip off legs are going to be lowered.....by about six inches or so. They will zip off at around the knees on most folks.

He told me a couple of other things, but forgot exactly what he said.

Can't tell you if this is the gospel, but that is what he told me.

My son loves wearing convertible hiking pants, but the Boy Scout ones run large & seem to be more proportioned for an older man rather than a teenager. He'll wear them to Court of Honor, but no where else. Maybe I can get my husband to wear them and I'll buy the new ones for my son.

Has anyone tried the new "Boy Scout Moisture Management T-shirt"?

I don't think it's just one or two councils. I've been to two different council scout shops and the scoutstuff web site...all BOGO.

Received a flyer and also know that the Scout Shop in the Greater Pittsburgh Council is also doing a BOGO.

I'm under the impression the switchback's failed. You can (and I did) get high-quality switchbacks at lower prices.
