WHat I am going to say Is only my opinion so get over it.
When I was a scout in the Late 50s and 60's we wore our Uniform to camporees,Meetings,Community Service and at Scout camp until it got too messed up to wear. I see the present uniform as being only worn for special occasions by the youth today. COH, Flag Ceremonies, etc. it is kind of a Sunday go to Meetin suit if you all know what I mean.
I see this new uniform being more what BP envisioned. Scouts out camping in uniform. I realize there will be leaders that will say NO Uniforms but it is a scout activity.
I presently have exactly that type of shirt and pants that I wear when I am out an about Geocaching,Fishing,Walking the Dog ,Backpacking, cutting the grass. SO i am used to the bellows breast pockets and the Swiss Loops on the sleeve. If the leaders give these a chance I see them working out well but only time will tell. I am quite sure that Venturing will be next with a change. I only hope the Term Venture Patrol is stricken from all BSA Literature with the coming of this new uniform.
