It will eventually be the uniform once all the Old Uniforms are gone IMO

This is a good question, I would like to see the number of patches scaled down a bit. I think a good outdoor uniform would be less ornate, IMHO.

Most of those patches are optional on the current uniform. Folks put them on because they like them. Are you suggesting that they continue to be optional on the new uniform, or that they be not permitted?

I would suggest that the BSA start to promote simplicity. I look at the new uniform flyer, and think it does just that. I love the way the flyer keeps it minimal. Should you mandate this? I'm not sure, I could probably make an argument either way. I just prefer a more simple outdoor look.

When we went from the all green uniform to the tan and green I saw less use of the uniform except for Formal Occasions. I still like te open V neck Summer Shirt rom the Old all green Uniform it made sence for sumer use of course everyone wore Neckerchiefs then. Those scouts and scouters that have only been in the program with the Tan and green have no reference from when the Uniform was worn for most if not all activities. Hiking, camping etc. Now you only see uniforms at Retreat at summer camp, COH, Parades special show off occasions. All other you see scouts in a t shirt which may or may not have a BSA Logo on them and probably a pair of jeans or some type of shorts(not BSA) actually they look sloppy.
I like the look of the new unioform and will have them for the Jamboree. As I am also very involved in Venturing I am waiting to see what will happen with that. May no uniform at all? Crews Choice totally, But then again for those (formal Occasions) you need something Like what we are getting for the Boy Scout Program.

I agree. give it time and it will be "the" uniform. It's gonna take years though.
