Summer camp staff has been mentioned a number of times and I don't know how that relates to anything. Whether a boy serves as a camp staff member has nothing to do with wearing the Eagle patch or being a member of a Venturing crew.

He wanted another uniform for the summer. Since he didn't have a Venturing uniform, that is what he wanted. When he got to camp, he saw friends over 18 with the Eagle rank on theirs, and that is what started his questions.

If he switches to tan and green uniform at any time he can only wear the Square knot on that uniform.

After he turns 18, can cannot wear the Boy Scout uniform at all unless he registers as an assistant Scoutmaster in a troop.

He is registered as an ASM and has the square knots on that uniform.
He wants to register as a Merit Badge Counselor, so he can contiune to help Scouts. He has learned so much thru Scouting, that he wants to give back what he can.

Just an interesting aside question. What if the Venture crew votes to wear the tan/green uniform? (and yes I know the difference between venture patrol and Venturing). Venturing Crews are allowed to pick what they wear?

They are not permited to wear the Tan and Green. That is not an option. It is a Boy Scout Uniform. It even says so on it.
