Eagle Scout

Postby mhjacobson » Tue Sep 23, 2008 6:41 pm

Gee I am there too. My son is 12 1/2 and has 43 MB (and one to go for Eable plus project). He also is starting to realize that he may not be able to obtain all of the MB (despite the fact that he has surpassed my MB by a slight number). I do not remind him that I have obtained my Eagle (but he sees the medal when we are at an Eagle COH. He has found, as have many scouts, that the upper grades and HS make being a 'professional' scout more difficult than what he thought.
50 year+ scouter -- have held almost all adult leader positions in Cubs, Scouts, & Venturing, currently serving as Council Scouting for Youth with Disabilities Chair.

Understand. Sometimes you gotta dig deep and hold your head up and tell the naysayers to get lost. Most times they are jealous. He should be proud of your accomplishments and when his picture is in the paper for Eagle, he will get a lot more accolades than his classmates. I have asked HS Eagle candidates at their BOR if they would wear their uniforms to school and get a pretty positive response. "My friends know what an Eagle Scout is" and they are impressed.

I feel like I just walked into the middle of something. Is this thread a continuation of the "First-Year Scout" thread?
