I think mine already know who they will select.

My best chance of being there is as a staff member, which is fine by me. Just need to decide what to volunteer for.

My council does not even have a committee yet, as far as I know.

Greater Cleveland Council will be sending four troops to the Centennial Jamboree (that's what I'm calling it). :D

Leader applications were made available in October 2007 with interviews conducted in December 2007.

All four positions in each of the four troops have been filled except for 2 JASMs.

The entire leadership team has met once and each troop leadership team has met individually.

We've already starting planning equipment purchases and other logistics.

GPC is holding leader interviews in mid-October. The committee will interview and discuss and make their decisions at that time.

I have submitted my application for staff during 2010 and will see you at the Hill!!

NCAC is just starting to advertise for the 2010 Jambo. When I dropped off the registration and Council deposit last week, I was told they have less than 100 signed up to date. This for a council taking 12 contingent troops. I guess you can drag your feet when the Hill is just down the road.

Grapevine has it that our leadership will be determined sometime early next year.

Cleveland's 4 troops already have gear in storage (e.g. all 16 patrol boxes and other stuff).
We've also started soliciting corporate donors.
Finally, we're nearly finished on our CSP design(s).

Penn's Woods Council has had an intersting group of applicants. 7 qualified men applied for the 2nd ASM job and we only have two slots. None of them are qualified to be considered for the 1st ASM or the SM slots. Most of the SMs that Council was hoping to apply to be the SMs have opted to not go or apply as staff.

Based on the conversation I took part in at the Jamboree meeting, I will not be selected as a leader. They decided to allow the selected SM bring in whoever they want, if they want to do that.

I have no problem with this ruling, however, I wish I would have known about it so I could have saved my $10 to apply for the staff jobs.

Due to medical issues, I had to pull myself out of the running for a SM/ASM spot, as it is unlikely that I would pass the physical.

However, one of my ASM's was just chosen as SM for one of the 6 troops CRC is sending, so I am going in Sprit, if not in body. Our troop has also had 5 scouts sign-up already, and at least 3 others are thinking hard about it.

I also have a 17 year old eagle scout, soon to be 18, that is seriously being considered as a 3rd ASM for one of the troops.
