Some New Jamboree Information

This is from the NER Meeting but applies to all regions in many ways

Following are the key items from my notes of the 11/13 meeting.
>> 1. NER expecting 8820 scouts,980 adult leaders,780 staff
>> 2. Venturers can attend as staff only
>> 3. second payment due 7/31/09
>> 4 Lots of selected key staff has not registered.
>> 5. No troop site will be under a power line.
>> 6. AC staff will be housed in sub-camps.
>> 7. NER has $141,400 for scholarships Must be based on need.
>> 8. Troop site "footprint"is slightly modified.
>> 9. There will less cars and reduced transportation. Be prepared to
>> walk.Adults are urged to be able to walk at a 3MPH pace prior to coming to
>> the Jambo.
>> 10. Food distribution will be by troop not by patrol.
>> 11. Cell phone service is planned [by AT&t]so there will no restrictions
>> on cell phones.
>> 12. There will be an internet center.
>> 13. There will not an early arrival program this Jambo.
>> 14. Staff departure will be no earlier then noon on 8/4/10, no cars prior
>> to 11AM that day.
