Leaving these forums...

Postby BM_Crawford » Sun Dec 12, 2004 11:28 pm

Unfortuantely I wont be posting here any longer unless I have questions. Until certain people learn the real meaning of scouting I have no buisness being here. It's a shame when you get shot down because you have a different opinion than someone else. Opinions can't be wrong, there opinions. The inability of people to stop putting words in the mouths of others is also a bit dissapointing comming from adults.

Alot of people on this forum are great and I enjoy talking with you but there are a few that seem to be against different opinions. You shouldn't discriminate against that on a forum. I'm sorry to have to leave but untill you learn that scouting is more than just regulations I can't be here...

:( Brian,

I guess since I'm new here I have no clue what happened to make you want to leave. I appologize if I said anything that offended you. I'm open to all opinions, that's why I came here in teh first place. I'm sorry that you were hurt.

Take care & have fun in scouting!!

you have been apologized to. So tough it out. I feel part of the problem is miscommunication so try to explain even though you know what you meant in a certain post we may not.

It most certaintly wasn't anything you said Woodbadgegirl. If you had been discriminative to me you'd know it. :) It's only a few people that seem like different opinions are wrong and thats just not the way things are.

If this is a possible change and people don't get criticized for their different opinions than I may stay.

Brian. I hope I won't be stepping on your toes and believe me I am a big one on everyone having their own opinion. But let me ask you something.
Are you going to run everytime someone critized your opinion? Because if you are you spend most of your life running away from something or someone.
Though I have disagreed with some here I still respect their right to their opinion. And on the other side I honestly feel that the people that have disagreed with my opinions still respect my right to those opinions. But just because we disagree that isn't going to make me leave a forum that I truly enjoy and think does a wonderful job of connecting scouters across the country.
To be honest if there wasn't some disagreement and different opinions here it would be boring. Each and every leader brings their own life experiences and backgrounds to scouting. And that is how it should be.
I don't always agree with our SM and there is little doubt that he always agrees with me. But guess what, we make it through because one of the things we do agree on it that we are in this FOR THE BOYS.
So don't run. Stay and give your opinions. So someone says they don't agree. That is their right just as it is your right to state your opinion.
your community is a tree. You are either a leaf that feeds it or mistletoe that suckes it dry. Be sure you are always a leaf.

I agree, but that's no excuse to be harsh or throw it in someones face. There is more than one way to disagree with an opinion.

All is forgivin though, and I will put the past event behind me.

BM_Crawford, I barely ever post here unless I have questions or comments, but to all of my posts, you have been quick to reply. I enjoy reading your comments, please don't leave this wonderful community, it'd be a great sorrow to loose someone of your stature.
