Putting in a Plug for my Wood Badge Course, SR-969

Postby mt_goodrich » Mon Jan 26, 2009 4:51 pm

Just thought I'd put this out there for anyone who may be interested in a WEEK-LONG WB course during the summer.

I just accepted an invitation to serve on staff of Wood Badge Course,
SR-969, to be sponsored by the Longhorn Council this summer.

SR-969 is a week-long course that runs Monday thru Saturday. Exact
date is July 20th thru July 25th.

What is unique about this course, aside from the week-long format, is
that it is held at the Lakeview Lodge at Sid Richardson Scout
Reservation in Bridgeport, Texas.

If you have put off taking Wood Badge because the two weekend format
doesn't fit into your schedule, take a look at this course.

Traditionally, most of the participants are teachers, school
administrators, LDS members and those who are required to use vacation
time at one week intervals.

If you have any questions, please let me know. If I can't answer
them, I will find someone who can.

We must have 30 paid attendees 30 days out. The problem with this course is that it is a week long course and folks will usually have their summer plans already made by March or April. So, important to get the word out early.

I have two folks already planning on attending and actually have another from out of state who may attend because his council is smaller and doesn't have any courses. He would be able to take the course all in one fell swoop.

The Week long course is so much better than the weekend course.

I have heard it is intense training and fun, all rolled into one.

I have also heard that the days are long and the nights are too with patrols working afterhours on projects and other items.

This is a link to where it will be held:
