huh, I didnt realize that. I'll have to tell the soon-to-be scoutmaster. He wants to hold a fair for fund-raising so we can make money on games and the church who charters us can sell their goods down in the gym. That way both parties would benifit. I thought it sounded like a neat and fun idea.

If the church does it and donates the money its ok As long as the scouts do not take part and the church does not say it for the scouts.

Brian, consider this, instead of telling your Scoutmaster you read online that gambling, games of chance, etc are not permitted, do this.

Ask him if the troop has ever filled out a Unit Money Earning Application

Oh thanks, I'll give that to him. I think most of the stuff he wants to do is like kid games and stuff. I'll give him the sheet though so he knows.
