YPT Every Two Years

YPT in a classroom setting is good for two years.

Is the on-line YPT still only good for one?

TWo Years? but I was at a national raining a couple of year ago and the LAdy from national said that once you take it you are good until they change it Unless you are atending a National Or International event. Then you must take it within the year of attendance of that event

Still good forever, but I always encourage our Scouters to refresh themselves. Not much has changed in 30 years, but it doesn't hurt anyone. When I train new MB Counselors I include YPT. Refresher for those who have taken it, and makes sure that the new folks get it. I have also noticed that all training sessions (NLE, SM-LS, etc.) spend at least 20 minutes on it in our Council. I don't know anyone in our Troop who does not get a refresher at least once a year.

Youth Protection Training is NOT good forever.

From the current Local Tour Permit -

"Youth Protection training is valid for two years from the date completed."

It does not stipulate weather it is in-person, or online. Both are only good for 2 years.

Like posted above, I, too, was told it was good forever, then something changed when they brought on-line version. I was instructed that on-line version ws only good for one year and the live versionw as good for two.

Glad it is now cleared up.

Was at our council office yesterday for a Jambo Contingent meeting.
Asked the council exec about this - YPT is valid for two years.

according to the tour permit forms...YPT must be renewed every 2 and it doesnt say in person or on-line.
