can dad be counsler

our troop didnt have a camping m/b counsler, so my dad picked it up. what i am wondering is can i take the m/b with him as the counsler and be ok under BSA policy?

Yes, as long as your father is registered MB counselor for this MB, there is no problem as far as BSA is concerned.

If I were your Scoutmaster I would try to find you some MB counselors that are NOT your father, however. Part of Scouting is learning to work with adults other than your parents.
