WB Paperwork Turned In (and a thank you)

Postby Billiken » Sat Jul 18, 2009 11:35 am

Yesterday (July 17) I sent my ticket (all five parts) to my counselor.
We're talking next week to see if he needs anything else.

Looking back twelve months I definitely can see a much improved troop.
- Very strong Troop Committee with new CC, Commissioner, COR, Advancement Person
- Scouts re-engaged with the OA (after the troop not participating since the early 1980s)
- Membership up. Two years ago when I became SM we took 5 boys to summer camp. This year we took 19.
- Our Pack has fourteen 5th grade WEBELOS
- Nine of our 21 Scouts are attending the Centennial Jamboree next year.

Hoping the WB paperwork gets turned around so I can have my Beating...er...Beading Ceremony :D on Sept 2nd at our district's Fall Kickoff meeting (like a souped-up Roundtable).

I'm going to fly my dad (30+ year Scouter) in from St. Louis to be part of the ceremony.
(Mom got to pin my Eagle Medal on 33 years ago...will let Dad and my wife put my beads on.)

I now understand the term "Working My Ticket".
Even though my 5 items are "done", they're still being worked on as I continue in Scouting/life.

Thank you and God Bless everyone that contributes to this forum.
Whenever I get down or frustrated about an issue in Scouting I come to this site.
I always find some sort of inspiration, either from the answer to the question or problem or just from reading comments by you, my fellow Scouters.
Again, Thank You.
