How about a Collecting AARP Junk Mail Solicitations merit badge? Or one for Senior Citizen Discount merit badges. Require using a specified number of discounts for various purchases, including dining out, grocery store (on Tuesdays seniors get 5% off), etc. Would also require determining whether coupons or senior discount saved more.

Ha, one of my daughters said to the other, "Be careful with Granddaddy. He's old and fragile." You know that had to become a family saying.

Not sure that I would say that for myself. However, just back from a week at summer camp (in the beautiful WV mountains - 90 degrees one day 44 degrees one morning) and was continually amazed as I walked the trail from out campsite to the main part of the camp and passed by teenage scouts with ease. And I wasn't really hurrying.

A list of "never were but should be" merit badges is here: http://www.boyscoutstore.com/spoof-cust ... it-badges/ I gave some out to the Troop Committee members at our last COH. And a couple to Scouts who had earned them due to special circumstances. Can't wait till they show up at their Eagle BOR with those on their sashes.
