Campaganza Sept 24th - 26th 2010

Anyone else going to this ? I will be on staff that is feeding the rest of the staff that is there. It sounds like a great time for both cubs and boy scouts.

I will be at McConnellsmills State Park with Climbing and Rappelling for Crews and Older Scouts.

Not going. I am working way too much overtime the next few weeks.

AS far as A Success I believe it was.10000 in attendance. I was never over at Moraine State Park but our climbing Venue at McConnells Mills State park was very busy. Over 800 rappels and Climbs during the day. The bus was there about every 45 minutes to drop off another load and pick up those ready to return to Moraine. The Climbing Rappel Staff, many from the Jamboree had a fantastic day of High Adventure. WE had 4 rappels and 4 climbs on rock face from 20 to 80 ft. Many many crews mostly Female and many adult leaders that had never been on Rock before. I know the councils are not interested in doing this again BUT I think the leaders that were in attendance and took advantage of what was there are all for a do over. I was disappointed that the powers that be were not as careful as to wheom got on the bus. Had to tell several Cub Scout and Webelos leaders they were more than welcome to have their boys watch but this was a scout/venturing activity only. WOuld I do it again? Next week sounds great lets go!

I served staff meals on site but stayed at Camp Bucoco because that is were the food was prepared and then we transported it then served it. My son was presented merit badge # 129 by the National Chief Scout Executive Bob Mazzuca and our whole troop got to meet a talk with him. Our boys all had a great time, thanks to all that helped in any way.

Actually Bob gives out CHief Scout Patches to scouts and he signs the back of them.

He did not bring one but he did tell my son that he may be able to earn 5 more over the next 2 years to include Robotics. And he did sign my son's merit badge sash with a sharpie.
