Cycling Merit Badge req. discrepancies

As of Aug 2, 2013, I find conflicting info on how to track the 10/15/25 mi rides.
I suspect the 50 mi tracking is also not alligned between the two documents.

The text on the wiki web page tracks rides as 7.a.2 & 7.b.3

It describes road biking and mountian biking options.
It claims to be created from the official source, Boy Scout Requirements, 2012 Edition (BSA Supply No. 34765)
It points to the workbook .pdf :

The workbook .pdf tracks only road bike rides as #8

and does not mention a mountian biking option.
It says the .pdf was upaged in May 2013.

Can someone clarrify so I can put the correct requirement # on the blue cards?

The worksheet you are looking at has the requirements as they existed prior to July 15, 2013. The wiki page has the NEW requirements. Which set of requirements is the scout using?

There's a page on USSCOUTS.ORG that shows the changes that were made. I recommend that you use the requirements book for the official requirements, and any updates on Scouting.org for changes between publications.

It's too bad there isn't a mechanism in place to notify registered MBCs when requirements change.

And if you think the workbook should be updated (I think they should go away), you may help out by updating it for the new requirements yourself.

BTW, scouting.org is the go-to source for requirements. wikis and usscouts are great, but not the final word. Workbooks should not be used as a source for requirements.

Actually, the updated requirements and workbook were posted to usscouts.org before noon on July 15th, once BSA made the new requirements public.

Now that the requirements are posted here, I just uploaded the updated workbook to this site, too:

The correct requirement # have not changed if the scout is working to the old requirements. If he elects to work to the new requirements he is actually starting over. Obviously a reasonable MBC would just transfer the requirements that have not changed.

PS the requirement rev date for cycling page on the wiki needs to be updated.
