Here's Why MeritBadge.com Is Down

I finally have good information on why MeritBadge.com can't be accessed. The host service recently moved all the web sites from one server to another server but the reseller didn't update the nameserver addresses. I tried to reach the reseller yesterday but he is currently on the road. Now that I have accurate information about the problem, I will pass that along to him and hopefully he will correct it in the next day or two. Once corrected, it can take up to three days for the entire internet to become aware of the change so my guess is it may be Monday before MeritBadge.com can be accessed again.

So if iti just the DNS that is being updated, is it accessible by IP?

Yep, didn't think about that. Of course, all the graphics will be unavailable since they are tied to the server name but the information is still all there.

UPDATE!

I just received a call from Will Stien. Like all good Scouters, he was hiking in the mountains and had no cell phone service. He detoured to a computer long enough today to update the DNS server information before heading back into the woods. As the Internet updates itself, everyone should get back their access to MeritBadge.com over the next 24 hours

Thank goodness. I thought I had made someone mad at me. HaHa.
But this wasn't the only scout site that was down. I found that almost every site that has Merit Badge Worksheets has been down for a couple of days. I figured everyone might be updating the work sheets
