I've always found meritbadge.com to be as up-to-date as any other MB reference in BSA. As an eBay seller rating might say: "Great Scouters!!!3!! Helpful!!!!!!! A+++++!!!!"

2) Considering MY site is off line, I wanted to get the information out to as many people as possible, and this site is a great resource for all Scouting.

You certainly can use this site (and mine)as a resource for your Scouts. Even BSA has done so by mentioning these sites in Scouting and Boys Life Magazines as reliable sources of information.

Mike and I both try to get the information on the web as quickly as possible once BSA publishes new requirements. Sometimes it just takes some time for either of us to get the information from BSA, as neither of us has any "inside track" to the information. We just buy copies of the BSA booklets like everyone else. Neither this site nor mine (usscouts.org) is OFFICIAL, but we BOTH try to make sure our information is as current as is feasible.

The OFFICIAL information is, of course, the current PRINTED edition of "Boy Scout Requirements" and the other BSA publications, even when they contain errors, see: http://users.adelphia.net/~pwolf/USScou ... cholarship
(In that case, BSA forgot to include the new requirements for the Scholarship MB in the new printing of "Boy Scout Requirements")

So OFFICIALLY, since "Boy Scout Requirements 2005" does NOT include the new requirements for that badge, Scouts should use the old requirements and Counselors should require they do so. As a PRACTICAL matter, however, I would encourage Counselors and Scouts to use the new requirements, since that was BSA's intent. Of course, once a Counselor approves the Scout's work, the "deed is done". As long as either set is used, I'd have no problem as an Advancement Committee member or SM in accepting the Scout's or Counselor's decision.

BTW, I'll write BSA tonight and notify them of the error in the book, in case no one else has already pointed out the mistake..

Ok, I finally got the current information up on the requirements pages on MeritBadge.com. I still have work to do making sure the worksheets are properly revised so please check worksheets against the requirements pages before you use them.

Unfortunately, "unofficial" sites like mine and Paul's have to play catch up every time the BSA releases new requirements. I wonder if National has ever considered whether or not it would be to their member's advantage to send us this information in advance. I'm sure it would be helpful for ScoutNet certified software companies like Troopmaster as well.

No. That's just a temporary URL, for that specific page only, on some pesonal web space I have available from my home ISP. Once we get our server built and reloaded, all the usscouts.org, macscouter.org, and other web sites we maintain will go back to their original uses.

Two things. First, I adore both meritbadge.com and the usscouts.org family of Websites. They are an invaluable resource. I like the historical MB requirements on usscouts.org, too.
