Another Update

Well things are happening, but not well.

My son had a meeting last week and finally met his SM and ASMs. They had a Q&A session (more like a Q session), handed out forms to order uniforms, council patches and the required list of things the boys have to buy from the national catalog (which I still haven't received).

This week we finally got the list of dates for the rest of the meetings. Next meeting is during spring break and my boys are out of town. The second meeting is during the council Scout Fair, which my son is already committed to running a booth. The last meeting is the campout, which is the same weekend as about 5 other things in this town, including district camporee. It's also the same weekend as my company's annual meeting where they fly all employees and families to a resort for a 4 day weekend. Tickets were bought in February.

Needless to say, my son will miss the rest of the pre jamboree get to gethers and literally will see everyone again the day they leave. I'd have to eat $1200 for him to drop everything to participate. Considering I was bugging the council for dates starting in December and was told to "just go ahead and make your plans, everything will work out", they can't force my son to participate. Of course, they won't give me a refund either.
