How much?

Postby hops_scout » Mon Apr 11, 2005 6:14 pm

Being my first Jamboree, I have had numerous questions (as wagion knows :D )

Next question that I've had come up is how much money to bring? Of course there will be merchandise to buy, and food, whatever:)

So those of you who have been, what would you recommend?

That is a personal decision. If you buy alot of your Jamboree items before coming you won't need as much. Of course there will be things for sale that are not in the Jamboree Catologue. Plus SOda Machines YUK and Ice Cream Good! I bring a roll of quarters in Mini M&M Canisters. I will let some former youth staff help with answering this. Chime in guys.

Hops,
Wearing my Parent hat.
OJ was there in 2001, we didn't buy very much from the Trading post, we had ordered most of the stuff ahead belts, patches and that sort of thing.
He spent less than $75.00 and that is with what he spent on the trip home.
You might want to look at a VISA Buxx card
https://www.nc.visabuxx.com/index.cfm?
Your parents can if need be add extra cash to it if you are running low!!
One of the guys who went to NOAC with OJ, lost his money so I added money on line to OJ's account and the Lad repaid me when he got home.
The bad news is that your Parents can track every cent you spend!!
I'm still trying to work out how OJ could spend $17.41 for breakfast at Micky D's :o
