This is true; however, one still needs to pass the swiming rank requirements. If you can pass the first class requirements the MB is not that much further away.

Mine too. My one son has Down Syndrome and he passed his swimming MB last summer. I am very proud of him. When we started with lessons our hope was that if he fell into the water he would make it to shore.

My daughter (who thinks she is a cub scout girl) has been going off the diving board at Brown County State Park pool for 2 years now! She is only 5!!

I have been blessed with swimmers!

That is great. Knowing how to swim at least enough to sustain oneself is so vital. Thus the requirements for rank.

There is a big problem with swimming in my troop as well. Some people cant swim. I didn't learn till a couple of years ago. :(
