Federal Injunction On Jamborees and Military

On the radio this am (Fri, 8 Jul), I heard a VERY brief report that some (blankety-blank) Federal judge signed an injunction against the military providing future (not this year's though) financial support to our Jamborees.

Does any know anything more about this?

It is my understanding that there is no direct Financial support for the Jamboree. Just man power. BSA has permanent facilities bought and paid for on the Base at A.P. Hill.

If that's so, then I don't understand what the latest squawk is about. Perhaps just the ACLU making moise again. It's possible there's a difference in the arrangements for this year's Jambo and future ones too.

The building at Dirt Bridge and the Ware house there are owned by the BSA. The 4 Action Cemters were built by the BSA abd th Army? The Personell there are all on training excerises which can be done at any base. The Commander for the Jamboree is Usually a National Guard General AAAll the Infastructure is built by BSA contractors Electric,Water Etc. Anyway there are 5 years in between This and the NExt SO not to worry.

Last night, our District told us how they're hoping to be ahead of future blocking from that alphabet group. We're concerned that they might block schools from being the CO. So, we've located other businesses to be the CO, and schools will still permit the meetings to continue. Shame we have to think this way. But keeping Scouting for these kids, in this World, is worth a little creativity!
