Two new things about the 2010 Jambo.
1. It probably won't be at the hill(Lawsuit, so Pentagon won't pay for it. :evil:

)

At Hometown News we had a Press Conference with Fran Olmstead who said it will DEFINATLY be back at the hill. The Senate voted 98-0 to continue the same support as the military has now for the National Jamboree.

same here. my dad and i talked about this issue, and came to the conclusion that there is no way we are going to be "forced" from the hill.

The Senate Did their vote now the house must do theirs and The Pres signs it into law.

Yes, Fran Olmstead said "It will be here" when asked what other locations the Jamboree would be held at if we are forced out at a Press Conference last Wednesday. He had no hesitation and didnt state any other possiblities, someone definately assured him of it by the way he responded.
He also stated the rumor of two seperate Jamboree's one on the east and one on the west and the rumors about it alternating from east to west were both false.

Im not sure exactly im sure you can get the votes off of CSPAN.com. But the reason Senator Frist attended the opening show was to tell the scouts of the passage of the "Support Our Scouts Act of 2005" in the Senate.

If memory serves correctly, it is Senate Bill 642, known as the "Support our Scouts Act of 2005. It was introduced in the Senate by Sen. Frist. It was passed by the Senate on July 26 by a vote of 98-0. It is now in the House for consideration. Here is a link to the BSA Position Paper on the Bill.

Not to get anyone's knickers in a twist, but GW won't be president in 2010, and there is a chance that many of the senators who voted for the support our scouts bill will not be a senator in 2010 given elections, age, retirement etc and we still dont know what the House will do then the bill will most likely have a Supreme Court ruling and I pray John Roberts is confirmed.

I want 2010 to be at the Hill, I just think its a little early for high fives and congratulatory dances. This issue will need to be followed as I preceive there are those who would love to pull the AP Hill rug out from under us, and they wont be sitting still even if the House approves the bill.

Can anyone tell me the relationship between the 18th and 21rst ammendments? Citizenship in the Nation recipients?

And who was it that said "Eternal Vigilance is the price of Freedom'?

Bush won't need to be in office in 2010, he just needs to be in office when the Bill is signed, which is expected to happen shortly.

Also, even without the SOS Bill it is likely we would be back at AP Hill. The Circuit court in Chicago where the court decision was made is often overturned at the appellate level and there was a very positive belief among in Scouting and military circles that that would happen with this decision as well.

I would bet on A.P. Hill in 2010.

While high fives might be premature... so is worrying about if and where the next jamboree might be.
