spoof, haha. Yep, I'm planning my spoof shirt, mentioned somewhere earlier. I had two basic ideas in mind. I'm a collector of patches (and too many things!!), and thought to promote discussion on same. And I might use it in a session, or at cracker-barrel. Secondly, it could be used in a Uniforming class/session at Trainings. I think the problem of people wearing unofficial patches on Uniforms is small (IMHO). But, somehow even with all the official guidance and Trainings....look how many Uniforms have official patches in unofficial places. I hunt spare shirts, and oldies on ebay. Quite a few have some strange patch placements.
One experience I had, accidentally, when I first became a Scouter, was with the "knots". I didn't know any source for Knot explanations (now there are many). I found the one for Quartermaster, and asked the clerk about it. I was told it was for people that had been a Quartermaster as a Scout. Cool, been there, done that, so I added it to my Uniforms. Then, the DE asked me when I "earned" Quartermaster Award....hmmm, I learned that I didn't qualify for it, and removed them. At least I had the knot in the right direction, haha.
