Not-so-good-looking images?

It seems to me that since the move, the images have lost some of their resolution, but only when included in pages. When you view the image on its own page, it looks OK, but they get slightly pixelated when displayed on an article page. Does anyone else see this?

I see them on a few of the pages, especially in the userboxes, but I didn't really notice them until you said something.

I'm not sure what is causing this but here's a posibility. The wiki was upgraded during the moving process. I read the upgrade notes and some of the image handling stuff was changed. That could have something to do with it.

I suggest a test. Download a copy of one of the suspect image files. Then go to that image file's page and click on the Upload a new version of this file link. Upload the exact same file. Then go check the "pixelated" version to see if it improved.

I tried your re-upload suggestion and it does not change anything: images look good full size, but not when reduced by the mediawiki software. I think you are correct that it is from the upgrade. I have a partial copy of meritbadge.org (created via Export) on my machine here, and everything looks fine [edit]. I did a quick search online, and found this: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6205. Could be ImageMagick?

I hearby retract my earlier comment. All of the images look fine on my installation of MediaWiki 1.12. Must be something else. I will keep looking into it...
